Product Description
Elevate your home with our Manual Blinds for Skylights. These blinds seamlessly integrate modern technology with sleek design, enabling you to control light and privacy with ease.
Available in two fabric types—Translucent and Blackout—and six stylish colours, these blinds are perfect for enhancing your home’s décor while providing functional benefits. They offer excellent UV protection, helping to maintain a cooler room temperature and shielding your furniture from sun damage.
Each blind comes with an extendable telescopic pole for easy opening and closing.
Fitted with a 20mm quarter circle PVC trim, our blinds are engineered to cover any gaps left after installation, ensuring a clean, professional finish that complements any space.
Please note, our standard size blinds are designed to be 85mm smaller than the quoted dimensions. This size reduction allows for the necessary space to accommodate the timber batten (25mm) and plasterboard (12.5mm) on each side, ensuring a perfect fit with a 10mm gap around the blind.
Please ensure you review our specifications thoroughly before making a purchase. As each blind is custom-made to your specifications, returns are not accepted if measurements are incorrect.
How To Measure Your Blinds
1. Measure the Opening:
Begin by measuring the width and height of the opening from plasterboard to plasterboard. Take care to measure both dimensions accurately for the best results.
2. Check for Variations:
Measure both sides of the opening to check for any inconsistencies. If there is a difference—such as one side being 550mm wide and the other 540mm—always use the smaller measurement. This ensures the blind will fit the narrowest part of the opening.
3. Confirm the Opening Size:
Once you've measured, you now have the exact size of the opening.
4. Adjust for Clearance:
To allow for smooth operation and fit, subtract 10mm from both the width and height. For example, if your opening is 2000mm x 1000mm, order a blind measuring 1990mm x 990mm.
Additional Note:
We provide a plastic lid that attaches to the plasterboard and wraps around the blind’s edges, ensuring no gaps are visible.
By following these steps, you’ll ensure your blind fits perfectly and operates without issue.
Specification
Installation
The blind frame comes with pre-drilled screw holes, making the installation process straightforward and efficient.
1. Placing the Blind: Carefully position the blind in the desired spot within the recess. For a balanced look, we suggest positioning the blind around 200mm below the glazing, but feel free to adjust this according to your preference.
Tip: For flat roof installations, leveling the blind adds to its visual appeal, though it’s not strictly necessary.
2. Marking Drill Locations: While holding the blind in place, use a pencil to mark the wall through the pre-drilled holes in the frame. These marks will serve as your drilling guides.
3. Drilling the Holes: Take the blind down and drill holes at the marked spots. Insert the appropriate rawl plugs into the drilled holes to prepare for securing the blind.
4. Mounting the Blind: Reposition the blind, aligning it with the drilled holes, and securely fasten it with screws.
5. Final Touches: Use the provided trims to cover any visible gaps around the blind, ensuring a tidy finish. Before applying the trims, wipe down the surface with the included cleaner to ensure they stick properly.
This guide is crafted to help you easily install your blind, ensuring it’s securely mounted and looks great in your space.
